Role of vaccines.

چکیده
Introduction S the time of discovery of smallpox vaccination in 1796 by Edward Jenner, vaccinations have a major impact on global health. Immunization is a process of inducing immunity against a specific disease and it can be induced actively by administration of vaccine or toxoid to produce humoral or cellmediated immune response. Vaccines may contain live attenuated organisms, inactivated or killed organisms, toxoids or subunits of antigen. It may be derived from cell culture techniques. Pneumococcal and Influenza vaccinations have played a positive role in preventing streptococcal and influenza infection, changing the outlook of lower respiratory tract infection.

Potential Vaccines for Treating Crohn\'s Disease
Crohn's disease (CD) is an inflammatory disease of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) tract and can affect several parts of the digestive system. There is a relationship between impaired mucosal barrier in the GIT of inflammatory bowel disease patients and the role of bacteria such as Mycobacterium avium paratuberculosis in CD. Apart from different therapeutic approaches for treating CD, developm...
متن کاملRegulatory and Biosafety Challenges for Vaccines
The global regulatory plan for vaccines provides a unique opportunity to develop safe and effective ones with assured quality. Methods used by regulators address challenges of new products and technologies and also increase understanding of benefits and risks of existing products. First, the laboratory-based regulatory sciences evolve correlates of immunity and safety; or improve the product ch...
متن کاملControl of Highly Pathogenic Avian Influenza by Evidence-Based Vaccinology: Past Progress, Future Prospect
Background and Objectives: Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) viruses are particularly important due to huge economic consequences and public health concerns. During recent years, because of the severity of epidemics and failure in the control and eradication of HPAI, vaccination has been introduced into the National Prevention and Control Program of some countries, including Iran. This a...
متن کاملApplication of bacterial shuttle vectors in designing new vaccines against infectious diseases: brief report
Background: Today, several vaccines have been developed to prevent infectious diseases. The older first-generation vaccines may have many problems. In this regard, genetic engineering plays an important role using tools such as shuttle vectors to develop recombinant DNA vaccines that usually include plasmid constructed so that can propagate in two different host species. The present study revie...
متن کاملStability Study of Razi Trivalent and Monovalent Oral Poliomyelitis Vaccine
Stability studies play a critical role in assuring product quality at all points in the vaccine life cycle. These studies used to determine vaccine expiry date and vaccine efficacy. Accelerated stability and long term stability study performed for three batches of trivalent oral poliomyelitis vaccine (OPV) and three batches of monovalent OPV (type1) manufactured by Razi institute. After samplin...
